I’ve always wanted to do that…Take the Self-Guided Covered Bridge Driving Tour!
Indiana County is home to four covered bridges constructed in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. The four bridges are: Kintersburg, Thomas, Harmon & Trusal.  The Thomas Covered Bridge is the only covered bridge in Indiana County that remains open to traffic. I’ve always wanted to do that…Explore & shop in the Amish Countryside of Smicksburg!
Over 325 Old Order Amish families live in Smicksburg and the surrounding region.   Plan a trip to the area to browse the many unique and antique specialty shops, several pottery studios, and you can even check for events held throughout the year.  There are a variety of Amish and English-owned shops.  Please note that Amish-owned businesses are not open on Sundays and have varied hours throughout the week.   Today is the perfect day to enjoy shopping!

Find outdoor activities all year in this 2,981-acre state park!  Don’t forget your mountain bike for the 21 miles of single-track mountain biking trails.  Plan a picnic and beach outing on the 800-foot beach open late-May through mid-September.  This state park has it all:  camping (cabins & yurts), boating, fishing, hunting, cross-country skiing, ice skating, sledding, swimming, orienteering, snowmobiling and wildlife watching!
