Indiana Art Association offers “Drawing Basics” Class
February 13 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 5:00 pm on Monday, repeating until February 13, 2023
The Indiana Art Association (IAA) is offering a six-session “Drawing Basics” course for members and non-members. According to instructor Dayas Silvis, the class is for beginners and those looking to get back to basics or just get back into art.
The course will cover how to break subjects down into basic shapes, perspective, composition, contours, shading and texture. These drawing components apply to any subject matter. “I’m excited we can offer this terrific learning opportunity, taught by one of our own very talented members,” said Faye Kershishnik, IAA Programs/Classes Chair.
Class will be six Mondays from January 9th through February 13th at The Artist Hand Gallery, 5-7 p.m. Cost is $75 for members; $100 for non-members. Sketchbook and basic drawing supplies are provided—included in the cost. This price is for the full six classes with no prorations or partial refunds given. If a course is missed, students will receive the missed classwork with handouts. Space is limited to a maximum of 10 people. Registration deadline is January 2nd.
Silvis has served on the IAA board since 2009 in every position for at least one term. She graduated from Oakbridge Academy of Arts in 1999 and Pittsburgh Art Institute in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication.
