Girl Scouts: Let’s Help Dragonfly Pond
September 9 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Girl Scouts can help make Yellow Creek State Park more beautiful by helping us remove invasive plants that are pushing out our native shrubs and plants. We will work with the Indiana County Plant Patrol Volunteers around Indiana’s County’s Most Beloved Pond, Dragonfly Pond. All tools and gloves will be provided.
Girl Scouts need to be accompanied by an adult for up to 4 or 5 girls per group who will also assist. Duties include identifying, trimming, and pulling out invasive plants and shrubs by the roots, as well as removing them from the area. This program is best suited for Girl Scouts, age 9 & up. Please bring water and snacks. Wear long pants, hiking shoes, and bug spray. Preregistration required. http://eventsreg.dcnr.pa.gov/register/create/44076056937695
