Annual Members’ Luncheon / The Great White Sea Bears
April 23, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Cindy Rogers & Rebecca Sterley – Known for strength, stealth, and cunning, the formidable Polar Bear, Ursus maritimus (Sea Bear), reigns along the southwest coast of Hudson Bay, Canada in the fall months awaiting the formation of the winter sea ice. The bears, hungry
after lean summer months, need the sea ice to venture out to find their necessary food source of seals. Also learn a bit of Churchill area history, Inuit culture, helicopter bear spotting, and dog sledding. This presentation will be in conjunction with the annual members’ luncheon. Additional information about the luncheon will be provided in the FOP newsletter. Space will be limited and pre-registration will be required by calling 724-463-8636.
Luncheon: 12 PM – 1 PM & Program: 1 PM – 2 PM
