- Growing Green Thumbs FREE Youth Garden Program, , Growing Green Thumbs FREE youth garden program is starting on Wednesday June 9 from 6:00-7:00 and continuing throughout the summer every Wednesday until August 11.
This year we are trying some new things with our youth program like having guest teachers with more arts and crafts, experts in certain areas that highlight some new features of our garden like our new pollinator meadow, food forest, and riparian buffer area, while bringing back old favorites like Tom the worm guy and garden games!
Geared for ages 4-12, we welcome younger siblings to join in the fun! We have added a mud kitchen for open ended play in the rear of our schoolhouse to keep everyone occupied!
We require parents to stay and play with us for the hour program.
Please spread the word to others who you think might also enjoy our free programs, our garden has so many things happening and we are excited to share them again with you!
Also, mark your calendar for Friday, June 25 at 6:30 for our annual Family Fun in the Garden!!

Join Yellow Creek State Park Volunteer Gardener Sue Weiland to learn how colonists grew herbs to enhance their food and treat maladies, and how pollinators benefit from native herbs. We will meet at the Stake Church Herb Garden, located across from Stake Church off South Harmony Road in Penn Run. Best suited for ages 8 and up.

Curious about learning to fish? Would you like to take your kids fishing or just want to learn more for yourself? Come join us for Intro to Fishing Happy Hour at Yellow Creek State Park North Shore. We will learn how to set up a rod, how to cast, what bait to use, and practice your new skills on the lake. This program is geared for ages 6 & up. Adults must accompany & participate with their child. Fishing license not required for this program. You can bring your own fishing rod, otherwise rods and bait will be provided. This program requires pre-registration by emailing Lisa Meadows at limeadows@pa.gov in June/July 2021 with name, phone, email, and number of participants by 7/19/2021.** Other Intro to Fishing classes will be offered throughout the summer.

- Growing Green Thumbs FREE Youth Garden Program, , , , , , Growing Green Thumbs FREE youth garden program is starting on Wednesday June 9 from 6:00-7:00 and continuing throughout the summer every Wednesday until August 11.
This year we are trying some new things with our youth program like having guest teachers with more arts and crafts, experts in certain areas that highlight some new features of our garden like our new pollinator meadow, food forest, and riparian buffer area, while bringing back old favorites like Tom the worm guy and garden games!
Geared for ages 4-12, we welcome younger siblings to join in the fun! We have added a mud kitchen for open ended play in the rear of our schoolhouse to keep everyone occupied!
We require parents to stay and play with us for the hour program.
Please spread the word to others who you think might also enjoy our free programs, our garden has so many things happening and we are excited to share them again with you!
Also, mark your calendar for Friday, June 25 at 6:30 for our annual Family Fun in the Garden!!

MEALS
The congregate meal is served at Noon. The suggested donation is $2.00 per meal. Reservations must be made (and are appreciated) by Noon the day before you intend to attend the center for lunch. ASI offers a modified meal for those with special dietary needs. Call 724-639-9055 to reserve a meal.
"Super Suppers", picnics, parties & other fun events are held throughout the year. We also do fundraising events to generate funds for special projects.
