This year, we will host the 64th annual Good Friday breakfast on Friday, April 2 at 7:00 a.m. The event will be held virtually on Facebook (no need to have a Facebook account to attend). For over half a century we have gathered as a community on Good Friday to commemorate and celebrate our faith. We hope you will choose to join us this year and celebrate God’s faithfulness.
Tickets will be $10.00 and can be purchased through Facebook or through the YMCA either in person or online.

Monday evenings this center offers a home-cooked meal, along with activities for those who might not be able to attend during daytime hours. Dinner is served at 5:30 pm, and a reservation in advance is needed so we may know how many to prepare for.
Some of the other services offered are Fitness Class, Wii Games, Crafts, Bingo, Cards, Trips, Billiards, Open Painting Club, Parties, Musical Entertainment, Blood Pressure Screenings, Internet Ready Computers, Open Acoustic Jam Sessions, and various Volunteer opportunities.
Transportation is available to and from each center through Indigo (724-465-2140). We offer scheduled shopping trips and provide transportation to medical/therapy appointments.

The congregate meal is served at Noon. The suggested donation is $2.00 per meal. Reservations must be made (and are appreciated) by Noon the day before you intend to attend the center for lunch. ASI offers a modified meal for those with special dietary needs. Call 724-639-9055 to reserve a meal.
"Super Suppers", picnics, parties & other fun events are held throughout the year. We also do fundraising events to generate funds for special projects.

- Finding Your Inner Child: Adult Salamander WalkEd Patterson & Lisa Meadows — Did you love jumping in the creek as a kid and looking for salamanders, turtles, and snakes? In this program, you will have the opportunity to relive those days of your youth in search of the wetlands and woodlands of Yellow Creek. This program is only for Adults age 18 and over.

Monday evenings this center offers a home-cooked meal, along with activities for those who might not be able to attend during daytime hours. Dinner is served at 5:30 pm, and a reservation in advance is needed so we may know how many to prepare for.
Some of the other services offered are Fitness Class, Wii Games, Crafts, Bingo, Cards, Trips, Billiards, Open Painting Club, Parties, Musical Entertainment, Blood Pressure Screenings, Internet Ready Computers, Open Acoustic Jam Sessions, and various Volunteer opportunities.
Transportation is available to and from each center through Indigo (724-465-2140). We offer scheduled shopping trips and provide transportation to medical/therapy appointments.

The congregate meal is served at Noon. The suggested donation is $2.00 per meal. Reservations must be made (and are appreciated) by Noon the day before you intend to attend the center for lunch. ASI offers a modified meal for those with special dietary needs. Call 724-639-9055 to reserve a meal.
"Super Suppers", picnics, parties & other fun events are held throughout the year. We also do fundraising events to generate funds for special projects.

- Salamander Story Time: A Salamander's Life & Hike, Join for us for storytime with A Salamander's Life by John Himmelman. We will learn about salamanders and then go for a hike to go look for salamanders in our vernal pools and wetlands. This program is geared for children, ages 5-9. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Please wear long pants, waterproof hiking shoes or boots, and bring water. Due to the nature of our hike of going into some rocky slick trails, we do not recommend this program for younger children.
Additional rules apply. Preregistration is required. Program is weather dependent. We will meet near Lakeview Pavilion.

- Skydance: The Dance of the Woodcock, Woodcocks are some of the most fascinating birds of Spring! Woodcock Expert, Lisa Williams, the Statewide Grouse/Woodcock Coordinator from the PA Game Commission will offer a talk and hike to view woodcocks at Yellow Creek.
Spring is in the air as one of PA's most unusual birds starts fascinating mating ritual by performing aerial acrobatics. Come join us for a short discussion and then a wildlife hiking (up to 1.5 miles) to check out awesome Woodcock at Yellow Creek State Park. This program is recommended for ages 8 and up. Please dress for weather, wear long pants, hiking shoes, and bring a flashlight. Back up date is 4/23

- The Lannding Opening Weekend, , The Lannding ATV/OHV Trails Opening Weekend is April 17 & 18, 2021. The Office will be open from 9am to 2pm. You can ride til dusk. There is no recovery. Monday evenings this center offers a home-cooked meal, along with activities for those who might not be able to attend during daytime hours. Dinner is served at 5:30 pm, and a reservation in advance is needed so we may know how many to prepare for.
Some of the other services offered are Fitness Class, Wii Games, Crafts, Bingo, Cards, Trips, Billiards, Open Painting Club, Parties, Musical Entertainment, Blood Pressure Screenings, Internet Ready Computers, Open Acoustic Jam Sessions, and various Volunteer opportunities.
Transportation is available to and from each center through Indigo (724-465-2140). We offer scheduled shopping trips and provide transportation to medical/therapy appointments.

Monday evenings this center offers a home-cooked meal, along with activities for those who might not be able to attend during daytime hours. Dinner is served at 5:30 pm, and a reservation in advance is needed so we may know how many to prepare for.
Some of the other services offered are Fitness Class, Wii Games, Crafts, Bingo, Cards, Trips, Billiards, Open Painting Club, Parties, Musical Entertainment, Blood Pressure Screenings, Internet Ready Computers, Open Acoustic Jam Sessions, and various Volunteer opportunities.

Owl Prowl-Full Moon Howl — Chloe Drew & Bob Madden — Join the Indiana Outdoor School for an evening adventure for the whole family! We will start with a brief hike to a spot near the woods to call in owls (participants must be quiet).

- Dedication Ceremony - In Honor of Dr. Patricia C. Hilliard Robertson, , , Please join members of the Homer-Center Historical Society, the Hilliard family, our elected official, and other members of the community for a brief ceremony on the occasion of the dedication of the bridge on US Route 119S in honor and memory of Dr. Patricia C. Hilliard Robertson, a NASA astronaut and physician, originally from Homer City and a graduate of IUP.
THe ceremony is planned for outdoors, but it will take place inside the Homer City Fire Hall in case of inclement weather.
COVID-appropriate, takeaway refreshments provided by the Homer City Area Business Association.

- Indiana High School Senior Art Show, , , The Hand continues the tradition of a Senior Show for Indiana High School art students under the guidance of new art teacher Beth Porter. Beth’s students have chosen the title “Art Can Change Everything” to describe this year’s collection of heart-felt, creative works. Indiana High School Senior Art Show will be exhibited to cap off a truly remarkable school year. This Artists Hand tradition has for years provided students with an authentic gallery experience.

- Self - Guided Walk - Wood Duck Trail - Hemlock Lake Park, , , , Explore the Wood Duck Trail on the western shore of Hemlock Lake in Banks Township. Boots are needed to navigate the trail, as the wet spongy trail is great habitat for the special plants and animals in the area. Enjoy the views of the lake as you navigate the trail. Be sure to download the map and highlights to take along on your walk.
