Hilton Garden Inn Indiana at IUP Partners with Lively Arts to Present Premier International Dance Ensembles
INDIANA, PA. In a joint release from Hilton Garden Inn Indiana at IUP and the Lively Arts at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, it was announced today that the Hilton Garden Inn will be the presenting sponsor for the premier dance ensembles Nrityagram and Chitrasena from India and Sri Lanka. The Lively Arts will be bringing this production to Indiana on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium of the IUP Performing Arts Center.

One of the premier Indian dance ensembles performing today, the Nrityagram Dance Ensemble (pronounced NRI-thyuh-graam) has the unprecedented distinction of making The New York Times’ “Best Dance of the Year” list two consecutive years in a row (2015, 2016). More than a dance company, Nrityagram was founded as a Gurukula (school) devoted to Indian dance. The all-female ensemble’s daily life of intensive training and meditation brings to the stage compelling captivating performances that are at once sensual and lyrical.

Patrons who have questions or wish to purchase tickets by phone may call the Lively Arts office at 724-357-2787, Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for assistance. There are no advance in-person ticket sales before the show. However, any remaining tickets may be purchased in person one hour before the show at the door.
