America250 – America’s Field Trip Announcement

Check out the latest news from America250

As we continue to amplify voices from across America, we’re excited to introduce America250’s first signature program geared toward students, America’s Field Trip.

America’s Field Trip is a nationwide scholastic contest crafted to actively engage America’s youth in commemorating and celebrating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The program provides elementary, middle, and high school students the opportunity to submit artwork, videos, or essays illustrating what America means to them. Here’s everything you need to know about the program:

  • 25 first-place recipients in each age group will be provided an unforgettable “field trip” experience to one of the nation’s most iconic historical and cultural sites.
  • Second-place recipients in each age group will receive a $500 cash award.
America250 seeks to equip and inspire our youngest generations with a first-hand opportunity to learn about our nation’s most pivotal historical moments. America’s Field Trip is an opportunity for young people to get involved and ensure their voices are heard. We are thrilled to launch this effort to prepare the future leaders of our nation with the knowledge of our nation’s past so that we can propel ourselves into a brighter future. See a few examples of field trips we have planned below:

  • Spend a weekend at Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.
  • Participate in a special tour at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, or the National Museum of Natural History in Washington, DC.
  • Enjoy a candlelight tour at Fort Point at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Learn more about how we’re engaging future leaders ahead of the 250th commemoration.
