This July 4th, America250PA asks for your support as we continue developing programs, projects, and events that EDUCATE, PRESERVE, INNOVATE and CELEBRATE Pennsylvania’s rich history, culture and future.
With a contribution of $20.26, you can help support efforts like the creation and installment of Semiquincentennial Bells—permanent, bronze structures that highlight historically significant locations in Pennsylvania and uncover untold stories that have contributed to our Commonwealth’s diverse narrative.
America250PA’s first Semiquincentennial Bell brings attention to a rare and beautiful historical and cultural resource in the Endless Mountains of Susquehanna County, PA, the Dennis Farm. This 200+ year-old farm, originally settled by free African Americans who moved to northeastern Pennsylvania from Connecticut after the Revolutionary War and continuously in the stewardship of their descendants, represents an overlooked and remarkable story in American history that holds lessons for us today.
On July 4, 2026, America will be commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America. As we celebrate Independence Day with parades, fireworks, and picnics, let us be reminded that the freedoms we hold so dear in America, began in Philadelphia on July 4, 1776, with the adoption by the Continental Congress of the Declaration of Independence.
America250PA was established by the legislature and Governor in 2018 to plan, encourage, develop and coordinate this historic milestone, Pennsylvania’s integral role in that event, and the impact of its people on the nation’s past, present, and future.
America250PA is striving to make 2026 E.P.I.C as we EDUCATE, PRESERVE, INNOVATE and CELEBRATE Pennsylvania’s rich history, culture and future. We have created impactful programming throughout the Commonwealth to engage ALL Pennsylvanians in ALL 67 counties – 11 Signature Programs and Projects to date, with more in development!
