New this year: The Herb Society will be selling plants from 5 to 8 behing the Museum. Saturday's opening ceremonies include the flag retirement ceremony at River's Edge by American Legion Post 57 as well as appearances by local dignitaries. Activities also includethe Herb Society of Historic Saltsburg's annual plant sale, the quilt show at the high school, re-enactors, a wide range of crafters and food vendors, live bands including Saddle Up, the parade featureing the Shiriners, Rainbow Train, and to top off the evening, Fireworks by Judy. New this year is PuppenMeister's Country Kids Jamboree, including a puppet show and Western-themed entertainment. And also a bike decorating contest. Entrants can ride their bikes in the parade. Sunday, in addition to the Herb Society's plant sale, the quilt show, crafters, vendors, Rainbow Train, and PuppenMeister, Sunday's activities include more live entertainment, including a gospel group, and the Saltsburg Free Library's Annual Duck Race, always a popular event.

Workshop for 8 to 12 year olds. Each participant is to bring their own lunch. No previous stage experience is necessary. Participants will receive experiences in acting, voice projection, stage movement, creating characters, dance and scene structure. The cost for each participant is $125 for a 3 week session. As a culminating activity, the workshop actors will take part in a production of Godspell, 101 Dalmatians, or School House Rock as part of our 2008-2009 season.
